Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of Gateway Council-St. Matthew’s Catholic Church Cluster

Girl Scout mission

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.’ Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, art and crafts, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. We just celebrated 103 years of Scouting!

Scheduled Meetings/Time Commitment

The girls meet at 6:30pm every Monday when school is in session. Daisy’s and Brownies meet in the cafeteria; Juniors/ Seniors/Cadets/Ambassadors meet in the Art room.

Any school age girl can be a Girl Scout. Parents who want to assist the leaders/girls in any of the activities/field trips needs to be a registered Girl Scout and background checked through the Girl Scouts website.
